Proposals for a new medical centre in the heart of Wem are to go on display at a public exhibition on Thursday 5 November 2009, being held from 3pm to 7pm at the Council Chamber, Edinburgh House, New Street.
Wem Medical Practice, Shropshire County Primary Care Trust and specialist developer Primary Asset will be at the exhibition to present the proposals; which would see the existing Wem and Prees Medical Practice replaced with a new state of the art facility, incorporating the existing Health Clinic, adjacent to the Vets, on the Smithfield Car Park.
The event will allow local people to meet with the development team face to face, view the proposals for the project, and freely discuss any questions they may have.
Paul Wheatley, Primary Asset, comments:
“We believe this public exhibition is an important step in communicating the doctors’ vision for a new medical facility to the local community. We are committed to providing the best possible facility in the area and look forward to discussing this with people on Thursday 5 November.”
The plans were submitted to Shropshire County Council last month and a planning decision is expected by the end of the year. The doctors are also seeking approval for the project from the Shropshire County Primary Care Trust.
