Opening ceremony of the new Gosberton Medical Centre

The brand new, £1.2m state of the art Gosberton Medical Centre will be officially opened at a ceremony on 17 December at 9:30am.

The building was designed by Primary Asset, a leading developer of innovative and purpose built primary care premises throughout the UK.

The ceremony will commence with two short speeches by Mr Richard Childs, Chairman of Lincolnshire Teaching Primary Care Trust and Dr Robert Brookes, Senior Partner, from the Medical Centre. Mrs Celia Hearth and Mr Allan Dixon, who in separate events, raised an impressive total of £1,300 between them for the ‘Equipment Fund’, will also be in attendance to demonstrate their continued support for the Medical Centre.

The design of this new 700 m² building gave special consideration to creating a light spacious atmosphere to ensure a stress free environment for patients, whilst also providing flexible space to enable the medical staff to offer better facilities to their patients. The much improved space has also meant that a new doctor has been able to join the surgery, which currently serves 5,000 patients.

Dr Brookes, Senior Partner, Gosberton Medical Centre, comments:
"Having been in the area for 26 years, it is fantastic to move into a new building that is going to secure local care, for local people, for the foreseeable future. We are delighted with the medical centre and I am particularly impressed with the team for the huge efforts they have put in to ensure that everything is up and running so quickly. This is a colossal investment by all concerned.”

Dr Martin McShane, Director of Strategic Planning and Health Outcomes for NHS Lincolnshire, comments:
“NHS Lincolnshire is delighted to have agreed the opening of the new Gosberton Medical Practice. The organisation continues to engage with local residents for feedback on services and works hard to improve the health and healthcare services of the people of Lincolnshire.”

As a provider of modern facilities and cost effective solutions, Primary Asset was pleased to be able to provide a new medical centre to meet both the current and future healthcare needs of the area. Doctors and patients alike were thrilled to move from their old outdated building, to purpose built premises which provide much improved healthcare facilities, together with a larger car park. The new medical centre has five consulting rooms, a dispensary and a full compliment of nursing and administrative accommodation.
