Minister approves funding for primary care centre in North Wales
The Welsh Assembly Government has announced that it has approved the funding for a new 1,493 sq m primary care centre to replace the current GP practice building on Kinmel Avenue, Abergele, North Wales.
Primary Asset, a leading developer of innovative premises solutions in the primary care market throughout the UK, will lead the development of the £3 million scheme which is to be located on the North Wales Business Park. The new building will provide state of the art accommodation for the GPs, practice staff and visiting staff and services from Conwy & Denbighshire NHS Trust.
Wyn Thomas, Chief Executive of Conwy Local Health Board, comments:
“This is excellent news for the practice and their patients. For some time the local health board has recognised the need for a new practice building and has worked closely with the practice and the developer to take this project forward. This purpose built development will be a significant step forward to improve health and well being services for the area.”
Ashley Heath, Regional Director of Primary Asset Ltd, comments:
“As the developers of the centre, we have worked closely with all the involved parties and are delighted to be given the go ahead. Primary Asset remains dedicated to providing premises which offer the best possible solution for meeting the needs of doctors, patients, the NHS and other related organisations. We look forward to delivering the new premises for Dr Honeybun and the patients of Abergele Surgery.”
It is anticipated that building will start in autumn 2008, with an anticipated opening in autumn 2009.
